Holy shit I still have this page dont I?  Been gone awhile, works crazy and the house is keeping me busy. I havent posted since I broke my leg, its all healed up and feeling better than I figured it ever would again. Im just glad I can walk, you really learn how great it is just to be able to walk, too bad it takes loosing something to realize what It ment to you. I knocked out a wall and put in the stair case in my kitchen that the house was designed with back in 1917. I like it a lot more.

The hole in the wall was just .25" sheetrock for the past 50 years.

The stairs are oak that I stained Gunstock.

Ok I had to put that in there. lol. I used a circ saw.......no really I did.

I am working on a trim board for the wall then a railing to match the original woodwork on the other stair case. this goes to the landing in the foyer. I have since put in a kicker board above the top step. Almost done with this.

Hello Hacksaw-

I haven't been by your house for a long time, I see that you are still working at moving it into the direction of improvement. Good for you! I will be interested to see how that trim board turns out by the steps... I had planned to do the same thing when I finished my basement staircase, but it never happened. It's rather difficult to trim a board to fit nicely against the steps... if I could do it over again, I would put up the side board FIRST, then trim the stair treads to fit against it... thus covering up my errors, which were pretty well guaranteed. It turned out okay without it, but it isn't quite the way that I had imagined it when I started the project.

I think I like the color of the wood that you chose to stain...

And I don't recall that fridge being there the last time I was looking around in your kitchen. It has probably been there awhile... maybe I just don't pay that good of attention. Or... maybe it has just been that long since I've been around.

I will have to stop by one of these days when I am with Lincolnman and check it out.

I haven't been on Xanga for so long... I'd almost forgot how to use it. It is good to see that some of the folks that I remember are still around and using it... or I'd feel pretty alone. Do take care-
